Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to a diverse general surgery and med-surg patient population
• Monitor telemetry and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Manage up to 6-7 patients with confidence and a positive attitude
• Coordinate with charge nurses, providers, CNAs, and unit secretaries to ensure seamless care
• Specialize in urology and bowel care while also supporting wound vacs, TPN, tube feeds, and drain management

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state
• BLS certification required
• At least 2 years of med-surg or telemetry nursing experience
• Telemetry competency and ability to care for 6-7 patients per shift
• Urology and bowel care experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and monitoring
• Cerner EMR proficiency
• Wound vac, PCA, and drain management
• TPN, tube feed, PEG, Dobhoff, and NG tube care
• Colostomy and urostomy care
• Heparin drip and IV antibiotic administration
