Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to adolescents in a behavioral health unit
• Administer medications safely and accurately while monitoring for efficacy and side effects
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document in the Cerner EMR
• Implement behavioral health interventions and maintain a calm, therapeutic milieu
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Behavioral Health Technicians and other RNs
• Float to adult and child behavioral health units as needed to support staffing

Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or NC) required
• Current BLS certification required
• CPI certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in behavioral health
• Experience with pediatric behavioral health preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and patient assessment skills
• Knowledge of behavioral health disorders and de-escalation techniques
• Proficient with EMR systems, especially Cerner
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
