Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments for orthodontic procedures
• Assist the orthodontist during patient exams, adjustments, and appliance installations
• Take and process dental X-rays and intraoral photographs
• Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate patient records
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and proper care for braces and aligners

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state licensure as required
• X-ray certification (Radiography) or ability to obtain
• Previous experience in orthodontic assisting preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• CPR/BLS certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization protocols
• Familiarity with orthodontic tools and procedures (braces, retainers, aligners)
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy practice
• Compassionate patient care approach
• Proficiency with dental practice management software
