Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Northridge, CA
Start Date: 09-01-2026
End Date: 12-01-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: 8-hour shifts, 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM (evenings), every other weekend (EOW). The unit also offers 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM shifts.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Sterilize and disinfect surgical instruments and medical equipment using Steris and Sterad systems
- Perform high-level disinfection, VP Plasma, and steam sterilization on patient equipment and supplies
- Ensure sterile supplies are properly prepared, packaged, and available for the OR team
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Document sterilization cycles and inventory in the Cerner charting system
- Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and meet equipment needs efficiently
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in sterile processing
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) through IAHCSMM or CBSPD
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with Steris and Sterad sterilizers
- Familiarity with high-level disinfection, VP Plasma, and steam sterilization
- Cerner charting experience is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection prevention
- Skill in operating Steris and Sterad equipment
- Understanding of high-level disinfection and sterilization methods
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow strict protocols and safety standards
- Good organizational and time-management skills
