Shift Type: 8-hour shifts, 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM (evenings), every other weekend (EOW). The unit also offers 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM shifts.

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Sterilize and disinfect surgical instruments and medical equipment using Steris and Sterad systems
• Perform high-level disinfection, VP Plasma, and steam sterilization on patient equipment and supplies
• Ensure sterile supplies are properly prepared, packaged, and available for the OR team
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Document sterilization cycles and inventory in the Cerner charting system
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and meet equipment needs efficiently

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in sterile processing
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) through IAHCSMM or CBSPD
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with Steris and Sterad sterilizers
• Familiarity with high-level disinfection, VP Plasma, and steam sterilization
• Cerner charting experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection prevention
• Skill in operating Steris and Sterad equipment
• Understanding of high-level disinfection and sterilization methods
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow strict protocols and safety standards
• Good organizational and time-management skills
