Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Start Date: 09-01-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts; must float to MCU/PSU/APU as needed. Weekend and on-call schedules determined by facility.
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in acute and progressive care settings
- Teach patients and their families to help them understand and manage their health conditions
- Document patient care thoroughly in the medical record to support continuity and safety
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and optimize each patient's care plan
- Float to MCU, PSU, and APU as needed, showcasing your adaptability and clinical expertise
Qualifications
- Acute care hospital experience required - we need someone ready to jump in
- Minimum 24 months of current Intermediate/Progressive Care Unit (IMCU/PCU) experience required
- PCU, IMCU, Telemetry, or Stepdown experience is a plus
- Oregon RN license not required at submission, but you must be willing to obtain one
- Certifications don't need to be active at submission, but you must be willing to obtain them
- A skills checklist specific to your discipline is required at submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in the nursing process and compassionate patient care
- Strong patient education skills for individuals and families
- Accurate medical documentation and clear communication
- Collaborative mindset for interdisciplinary teamwork
- Acute care and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
- Comfort with IMCU, Telemetry, and Stepdown patient populations
