Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM; self-scheduling, with 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to adult and pediatric trauma patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Titrate vasoactive drips, paralytics, sedatives, and antiarrhythmics as ordered
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Draeger heart monitoring systems
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans
- Document patient care accurately in the EPIC electronic health record
- Float to other adult inpatient units as needed to support the team
- Respond quickly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate interventions
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (NLC)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience; trauma ICU experience is a plus
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Driver's license required at time of submittal for distance verification
- Must pass an open-book skills exam with a score of 90% during orientation
- Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
- Comfortable floating to various adult inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team
- Positive attitude and personable bedside manner
- Proficient in EPIC charting system
- Skilled in titration of vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
- Expertise in telemetry interpretation and recognizing cardiac rhythms
- Knowledge of trauma nursing and caring for critically ill patients
