Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment and discharge plans to help them regain independence in daily living skills
• Deliver skilled occupational therapy services per physician orders and in line with state and federal regulations
• Document all services accurately and timely to support continuity of care and regulatory compliance
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in accordance with practice acts and facility policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and families to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and uphold all safety standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program with a MOT or OTD
• Active South Carolina Occupational Therapy license or ability to obtain one
• Strong clinical, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and care teams

Education

• Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical skills in occupational therapy, patient evaluation, and treatment planning
• Knowledge of discharge planning and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards
• Strong clinical documentation and communication abilities
• Experience supervising COTAs and directing therapy support staff
