Speech Language Pathologist - Skilled Nursing Facility
Location: Waterville, ME
Start Date: 08-31-2026
Contract Type: Perm
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute meal break)
Hours per Week: 30
Bill Rate: $38.00 - $48.00/hour
Benefits
- Salary range: 38-48/hr
- 10% Salary placement fee
- 30 hours
- M-F
- No weekend rotation

Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing assessments for residents in our 60-bed facility
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and quality of life
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and caregivers to ensure holistic patient-centered care
- Accurately document patient progress and adjust therapies based on response
- Educate patients, families, and staff on communication strategies and swallowing safety
Qualifications
- Current Maine state license (or eligibility) as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows welcomed to apply!
- Previous experience in skilled nursing or long-term care is a plus, but not required
- Passion for working with adults and geriatric populations
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration
- Ability to create engaging, patient-centered therapy sessions
- Proficient with documentation and EHR systems
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
