Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute meal break)

Hours per Week: 30

Bill Rate: $38.00 - $48.00/hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing assessments for residents in our 60-bed facility
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and quality of life
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and caregivers to ensure holistic patient-centered care
  • Accurately document patient progress and adjust therapies based on response
  • Educate patients, families, and staff on communication strategies and swallowing safety

Qualifications

  • Current Maine state license (or eligibility) as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows welcomed to apply!
  • Previous experience in skilled nursing or long-term care is a plus, but not required
  • Passion for working with adults and geriatric populations

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong clinical knowledge of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration
  • Ability to create engaging, patient-centered therapy sessions
  • Proficient with documentation and EHR systems
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
