Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents in a skilled nursing setting
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to ensure holistic patient care
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Educate patients and their families on communication strategies and swallowing techniques
• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of Oklahoma
• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but Clinical Fellows welcome to apply
• Prior experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings is a plus
• Excellent communication skills with a passion for working with the geriatric population

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dysphagia management and modified diets
• Familiarity with Medicare documentation and billing practices
• Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle a full caseload
• Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on maximizing quality of life
