Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing functions
• Provide therapy sessions to patients with a variety of conditions, including short-term and long-term care needs
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Document patient evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes accurately

Qualifications

• Valid New Mexico Speech Language Pathologist license
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care settings is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of evidence-based speech therapy techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency in documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate records
