Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the business of the day for a diverse patient population in a 55-bed Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor telemetry and assess patients with conditions like CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, and COVID
• Administer medications and manage PCA pumps, Cardizem, and insulin drips
• Collaborate with a tight-knit interdisciplinary team including educators, care managers, and therapists
• Perform hourly rounding and respond promptly to patient needs
• Float to Medical-Surgical areas as needed based on highest patient need

Qualifications

• Active RN license required (compact accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU or acute care experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Telemetry competency required
• Driver's license required for submittal
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• EPIC EMR proficiency
• Alaris IV pump experience
• Telemetry monitoring skills
• Strong communication and teamwork
• Ability to manage high patient acuity and prioritize care
• Knowledge of PCA pumps, Cardizem, and insulin infusion
