Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine their mental, physical, and spiritual needs and respond with compassionate care
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible parties to support recovery
• Use strong clinical judgment to recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition
• Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation that supports continuity of care
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities and contribute to quality and safety initiatives
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with best practices
• Float to clinically appropriate units as needed, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required for many assigned units
• CSU-ALS certification preferred by some facilities
• Demonstrated ability to float between units within scope of practice and competencies
• Comfort working night shifts and in fast-paced hospital environments

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthopedics patient care and post-operative management
• Patient assessment and individualized care planning
• Strong clinical judgment and timely clinical decision-making
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
• Experience adapting to different units (ED, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, Rehab, Step-Down) is a plus
