Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to newborns in a Level 4 NICU and newborn nursery
• Monitor and assess critically ill infants, adjusting care plans as needed
• Administer medications, fluids, and feedings with precision
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, RTs, transport nurses, and physicians
• Support breastfeeding mothers and educate families on newborn care
• Respond to high-risk deliveries and provide stabilization and transport support
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and CPN

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience
• Level 4 NICU experience required
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and take call
• Team player with a positive attitude and adaptability to change
• Navy scrub color required; other guidelines provided on unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of NICU and newborn nursery care
• Comfort with Level 4 NICU acuity and procedures
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR and CPN charting
• Ability to manage isolettes, ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, and breast pumps
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to handle patient ratios from 1:1 to 4:1
