Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, comprehensive care to laboring patients and their families
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, intervening as needed
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and D&C procedures
• Circulate and recover C-section patients, ensuring a smooth postoperative transition
• Care for newborns immediately after delivery, including assessment and resuscitation
• Administer medications and support epidural anesthesia for pain management
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, positive outcomes
• Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, and postpartum care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact NLC license
• 2+ years of recent Labor and Delivery experience
• Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or CEFM, ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Experience with circulating and recovering C-section patients
• A team player with excellent communication skills and a compassionate heart

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Care of the laboring patient and immediate newborn care
• Surgical assistance and circulating for cesarean sections
• Knowledge of epidural anesthesia and pain management
• Electronic medical record documentation (CPN, Meditech)
