Occupational Therapist - Acute Care
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Start Date: 08-03-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Days, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (07:30 AM - 6:00 PM) OR rotating 8-hour shifts (07:30 AM - 4:00 PM), including weekends
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for acute care patients
- Develop personalized care plans that help patients regain independence and function
- Collaborate with the rehab team, including PTs, SLPs, and nurses, to deliver coordinated care
- Document patient progress accurately in EPIC EMR
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and safe home practices
- Participate in discharge planning to support smooth transitions from hospital to home
- Cover weekend rotations to ensure continuous rehab services for patients
Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
- Alaska state fingerprint and background check cleared or in provisional status
- Ability to work 10-hour or 8-hour rotating day shifts including weekends
- Experience with EPIC EMR is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical reasoning and independent decision-making
- Expertise in acute care rehabilitation protocols
- Skilled in EPIC EMR documentation
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Adaptability and time management in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Patient and family education techniques
