Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Start Date: 07-26-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM; every other weekend required, scheduling must meet the needs of the department
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
- Triage, assess, and stabilize patients presenting with a wide range of acute medical and behavioral health conditions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced 101-bed Emergency Department
- Coach and provide real-time feedback to support seamless teamwork and maintain a positive, safe environment
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner and keep patients and families informed throughout their visit
- Adapt quickly and flexibly across all sections of the ED, ensuring every patient receives exceptional care
Qualifications
- Current RN license and at least 2 years of nursing experience, including a minimum of 1 year in an emergency room setting
- Must have current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications before starting; ENPC within 90 days of hire
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits/year) is strongly preferred
- Previous HCA experience is a plus, but a passion for teamwork and real-time coaching is a must
- Flexibility to work in all sections of the ED and adapt to a dynamic, ever-changing environment
