Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive admission assessments for patients transitioning from the ED
• Administer medications and initiate acute care orders
• Monitor telemetry and step-down patients to ensure safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to enhance patient throughput
• Provide patient education and support to improve outcomes
• Float to other units within skill set when needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Positive attitude with a focus on teamwork
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in Cerner documentation system
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
