Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients on the med/surg unit
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for children with medical and surgical conditions
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses in a timely and thorough manner

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or a compact state
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• PALS certification preferred
• Prior experience in pediatric or med/surg nursing preferred
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach to caring for children and their families

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of pediatric growth and development
• Skills in pediatric assessment, IV placement, and medication administration
• Knowledge of family-centered care principles
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
