Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to critically ill patients in a 33-bed ICU, managing conditions such as trauma, cardiac, stroke, and respiratory distress
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation as ordered, and monitor patients' responses closely
• Interpret and document telemetry strips while overseeing cardiac monitors
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, delivering the same high-quality care with appropriate patient ratios
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nebraska or compact state) required
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency in EPIC charting systems
• Valid driver's license and ability to commute within 50 miles (per radius rule)
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in titrating cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, strip interpretation, and documentation
• Experience with trauma, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis patients
• Knowledge of ventilator management and high-flow oxygen support
• Ability to adapt quickly to floating assignments
• Familiarity with GE monitors and EPIC charting
