Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with weekend rotation

Hours per Week: 40

Bill Rate: $26-$30/hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate physical therapy services to residents in our 74-bed skilled nursing facility
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility and functional independence
  • Document patient progress accurately and adjust treatments in collaboration with the therapy team
  • Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care

Qualifications

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Maine (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekend rotation

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of physical therapy techniques, modalities, and rehabilitation principles
  • Ability to document care accurately and in a timely manner
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Adaptability to changing patient needs and priorities
