Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Start Date: 06-07-2026
End Date: 09-06-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
- Develop personalized treatment plans for patients recovering from TKA, THA, spinal surgery, CVA, and general medical conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery and discharge planning
- Document patient progress and adjust interventions to maximize functional outcomes
- Support patients through their rehabilitation journey from acute care through skilled nursing transitions
Qualifications
- Current California Physical Therapist license required
- BLS certification required
- Acute inpatient physical therapy experience essential
- Strong clinical skills across orthopedic, neurological, and medical patient populations
Knowledge & Skills
- Acute inpatient physical therapy expertise
- Experience with post-surgical orthopedic patients
- Neurological rehabilitation skills including CVA recovery
- Ability to manage diverse caseloads across multiple hospital units
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
