Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during patient examinations, procedures, and appliance adjustments
• Take and process dental X-rays, impressions, and digital scans with precision
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories to maintain a safe clinical environment
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene, brace care, and treatment expectations
• Accurately document patient information and treatment details in Denticon
• Manage inventory and ensure all orthodontic supplies are well stocked and organized

Qualifications

• Certification in orthodontic assisting (e.g., COA, DAANCE, or state-specific orthodontic certification)
• Hands-on experience in dental assisting, preferably in orthodontics
• Proficiency with dental software, especially Denticon
• Strong interpersonal skills to connect with patients of all ages
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and terminology
• Skilled in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques
• Competent in dental radiography and safety protocols
• Understanding of infection control and OSHA standards
• Excellent verbal communication and patient education abilities
• Familiarity with Denticon practice management software
