Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures by preparing instruments and materials
• Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions with precision and care
• Sterilize and disinfect equipment to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care for healthy smiles
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans
• Create a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere for patients and families

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-specific certification as required
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Radiology (X-ray) certification in Maryland
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to assist with patient comfort and stand for extended periods

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and terminology
• Proficiency with dental practice management software
• Expertise in sterilization and infection control protocols
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
