Roles & Responsibilities

  • Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure and oxygen saturation, to monitor patient safety
  • Assist with nitrous oxide and IV sedation administration, ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures
  • Capture high-quality panoramic X-rays for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Support oral surgery procedures, including wisdom tooth extractions, with a steady and prepared hand
  • Deliver clear post-operative instructions to patients and their families for smooth recovery
  • Prepare and maintain the treatment area and equipment, keeping everything sterile and organized

Qualifications

  • Prior dental assistant experience, especially in oral surgery, is a plus
  • Familiarity with taking vital signs and monitoring patients is essential
  • Comfortable assisting with nitrous oxide and IV sedation cases
  • Ability to capture panoramic X-rays and support surgical procedures
  • Excellent communication skills for providing post-op instructions

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of dental terminology and oral surgery procedures
  • Skill in using panoramic X-ray imaging equipment
  • Understanding of sedation protocols and patient monitoring
  • Ability to provide compassionate patient care before, during, and after treatment
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain a smooth workflow
