Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients with respiratory disorders
• Administer oxygen, aerosol medications, and respiratory therapy treatments
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators and adjust settings as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to develop patient care plans
• Document patient responses and progress accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and equipment

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) license in Virginia
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• ACLS certification preferred
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced health care environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment, including ventilators and nebulizers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
• Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
