Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with weekend rotation

Bill Rate: $27.25 - $30/hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate occupational therapy services to residents in our skilled nursing facility, helping them achieve their highest level of independence.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist, adapting activities to meet each resident's unique needs.
  • Document resident progress accurately and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, physical therapists, and speech therapists to ensure holistic care.
  • Educate residents and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs for continued success beyond our facility.

Qualifications

  • Active certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • Current Maine state licensure or eligibility to obtain upon hire.
  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care is a plus.
  • CPR certification (BLS) required.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working with older adults.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid understanding of occupational therapy principles, modalities, and adaptive equipment.
  • Proficiency in documenting care in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity in adapting activities for residents with varying abilities.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
