Pediatric PACU Registered Nurse
Location: Spokane, Washington
Start Date: 08-17-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Flexible 6-hour per diem shifts (exact start/end times confirmed upon scheduling)
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, specialized nursing care to pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia
- Monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, and overall condition during the post-anesthesia phase
- Assess and manage pain, ensuring each child's comfort and safety
- Educate and support families with clear communication and reassurance
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver seamless, patient-centered care
- Document patient outcomes accurately and promptly
- Respond quickly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns as needed
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Washington State (or compact license where applicable)
- BLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- PACU or critical care nursing experience preferred
- Pediatric nursing experience strongly preferred
- A genuine passion for caring for children and their families
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of post-anesthesia care standards and best practices
- Ability to monitor vital signs and detect subtle changes
- Excellent communication skills with children and families
- Comfort with electronic health records and documentation
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
