Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, 6-hour shifts, days and times vary based on department needs
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare pediatric patients for surgery by conducting pre-operative assessments and reviewing medical histories
- Start IVs, administer medications, and monitor vital signs in the pre-operative setting
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and safe transition to the operating room
- Provide compassionate care and emotional support to children and their families before surgery
- Verify surgical consent forms and ensure all pre-operative protocols are followed
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Current BLS certification required
- PALS certification preferred
- Previous experience in pre-operative, perioperative, or pediatric nursing is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of pre-operative nursing procedures and protocols
- Skill in starting IVs and administering medications to pediatric patients
- Ability to comfort and reassure anxious children and families
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
