Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare pediatric patients and their families for surgery with compassion and clear communication
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth, safe pre-operative experience
• Perform thorough patient assessments and review medical histories
• Start IVs, administer medications, and complete pre-operative procedures as ordered
• Educate children and caregivers about what to expect before surgery
• Maintain a calm, reassuring environment to ease pediatric anxiety
• Document patient information accurately and completely

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• PALS certification preferred
• Experience with pediatric patients or pre-operative care is a plus
• New graduates are encouraged to apply
• A genuine passion for caring for children

• Knowledge of pre-operative nursing protocols and procedures
• Excellent communication and active listening skills
• Ability to connect with children and families in stressful situations
• Attention to detail in assessments and documentation
