Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform emergency interventions as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the care team to develop and adjust treatment plans
• Monitor patients closely, document findings, and respond rapidly to changes in condition
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
• Advocate for your patients and ensure a safe, healing environment during their most critical moments

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or a compact state
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred
• Previous emergency department or critical care experience is a plus
• Ability to stay calm and think clearly in high-pressure situations
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with the ED team

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of emergency nursing practices, triage protocols, and patient assessment
• Comfortable with cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and emergency equipment
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fast-paced environments
• Great communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients, families, and teammates
• Adaptable and flexible, able to handle changing priorities and unpredictable situations
