Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use
• Assist surgeons during a variety of procedures including orthopedics, podiatry, pain management, breast, GYN, and general surgery
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies quickly and accurately
• Handle specimens, count instruments, and ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols
• Collaborate with the OR team to provide exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgery

Qualifications

• BLS Certification required (AHA or equivalent)
• 1+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Strong orthopedic surgery experience is a must
• Ability to take call with a 30-minute response time and meet weekday/weekend call requirements
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system is a plus
• Must be comfortable floating to WC (Wound Care) as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and sterile field management
• Expertise in orthopedic surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Understanding of aseptic technique and infection control standards
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records
• Strong attention to detail and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
