Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange surgical instruments and equipment, making sure the OR is fully stocked and ready for any procedure
• Maintain a sterile field and provide sterile instruments and supplies to the surgeon during operations
• Assist with surgical cases including orthopedics, neuro, spine, general, and more
• Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens for the lab
• Collaborate confidently with nurses, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to deliver excellent patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call coverage to keep the surgical unit running smoothly

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent operating room experience
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Experience with Cerner Surginet is a plus
• Robotic and CV surgical experience preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instruments

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of surgical aseptic techniques and instrument preparation
• Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced, high-volume OR
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with Cerner Surginet charting system
• Understanding of surgical anatomy and common procedures
• Adaptability to handle diverse case types including orthopedic and neuro spine
