Registered Nurse - NICU
Location: Chandler, Arizona
Start Date: 08-31-2026
End Date: 11-30-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts), with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and holiday rotation.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-level nursing care to NICU and Special Care Nursery patients from 28 weeks gestation and above
- Manage respiratory support including ventilators, CPAP, RAM cannula, and Vapotherm nasal cannulas
- Monitor and treat conditions like hyperbilirubinemia, meconium aspiration, respiratory distress syndrome, PPHN, and sepsis
- Perform skill-based procedures including foley catheter insertion, PICC line care, UAC/UVC management, and chest tube monitoring
- Collaborate with Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and neonatologists to deliver comprehensive care
- Educate and support families during their baby's critical care journey
- Document accurately in Cerner electronic health records
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level II NICU experience (within the past 6 months)
- Active and unrestricted RN license
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- STABLE certification is preferred and a plus
- Must pass a foley catheter insertion Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation
- Level III NICU experience is preferred
- Comfortable with floating to sister facility MGMC as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of neonatal resuscitation and respiratory support
- Skilled in NICU Level II and Special Care Nursery patient care
- Proficient with Cerner charting and GE monitors
- Understanding of ventilators: Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision Bipap, V60s
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with the care team
- Great communication skills for family education and support
