Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic examination
• Perform embedding and microtomy to produce high-quality slides
• Run immunohistochemistry (IHC) and special stains to support accurate diagnoses
• Use digital pathology systems to capture and manage slide images
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure a clean, organized work environment
• Collaborate with pathologists and lab staff to deliver reliable results

Qualifications

• Active HT or HTL certification through ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• Minimum of 2 years of histology experience, with 3 years preferred
• Experience with routine histology including embedding and microtomy
• Familiarity with IHC, special stains, and digital pathology
• A detail-oriented approach and ability to follow established protocols

Education

• Associate degree in Histology or a related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in histology techniques including embedding, microtomy, IHC, and special stains
• Experience with digital pathology workflows
• Working knowledge of Epic Beaker LIS/EMR systems
• Familiarity with Roche equipment
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a laboratory team
