Surg Tech – UHC Staffing

Location: Spokane, Washington

Start Date: 05-01-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour shifts (schedule to be determined), orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room and sterile field to support safe procedures
Pass instruments and supplies efficiently to the surgical team
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control practices
Assist with setup and breakdown of surgical equipment and instrumentation
Communicate clearly with surgeons, nurses, and techs to keep cases running smoothly
Document case-related activity and ensure proper handling of specimens

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or completion of an accredited surgical tech program
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification recommended
Prior OR experience is a strong plus; new grads with solid clinical training encouraged to apply
Ability to pass background checks and required facility onboarding
Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent
High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of sterile technique and OR infection control
Familiarity with common surgical instruments and procedures
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and work efficiently under pressure
Good documentation and time-management skills
Comfortable using basic clinical technology and equipment
