Roles & Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment to ensure proper cycles and documentation
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, biological indicators and quality controls
• Manage inventory of sterile supplies and ensure proper storage and rotation
• Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to ensure instruments are ready when needed
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Participate in on-call rotation to support department coverage

Qualifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required
• Ability to work 40 hours per week on an evening shift
• Comfortable with on-call and holiday rotation as needed
• Must meet all facility compliance requirements including health screenings and immunizations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices
• Familiarity with surgical instruments and medical terminology
• Ability to operate autoclaves, washers and other sterilization equipment
• Excellent record-keeping and documentation skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management and ability to work independently
