Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist with examinations, adjustments, and procedures, ensuring each patient feels at ease
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory rooms, maintaining a flawless clinical environment
- Take and process dental X-rays and impressions to support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices
- Maintain accurate patient records and coordinate appointment scheduling for a smooth workflow
- Provide friendly, compassionate support that turns every dental visit into a positive experience
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or completion of a recognized dental assisting program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Radiography/X-ray certification for taking dental images
- Previous experience in orthodontics or general dental assisting is strongly preferred
- A caring, professional demeanor with excellent communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of orthodontic terminology, tools, and procedures
- Expertise in sterilization and infection control best practices
- Comfort with dental practice management software for scheduling and charting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow treatment protocols precisely
- Team player who can adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical setting
