Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist with examinations, adjustments, and procedures, ensuring each patient feels at ease
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory rooms, maintaining a flawless clinical environment
  • Take and process dental X-rays and impressions to support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices
  • Maintain accurate patient records and coordinate appointment scheduling for a smooth workflow
  • Provide friendly, compassionate support that turns every dental visit into a positive experience

Qualifications

  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or completion of a recognized dental assisting program
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Radiography/X-ray certification for taking dental images
  • Previous experience in orthodontics or general dental assisting is strongly preferred
  • A caring, professional demeanor with excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid understanding of orthodontic terminology, tools, and procedures
  • Expertise in sterilization and infection control best practices
  • Comfort with dental practice management software for scheduling and charting
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow treatment protocols precisely
  • Team player who can adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical setting
