Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate and thorough dental hygiene care to patients
• Perform cleanings, polishings, and fluoride treatments
• Educate patients on oral health and preventive care
• Take and evaluate dental X-rays for diagnostic purposes
• Support the dentist during procedures and maintain a sterile environment
• Document patient care accurately in electronic health records

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia (required)
• Graduate from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring bedside manner
• Ability to take dental X-rays and perform periodontal assessments

Knowledge & Skills

• Oral health assessment and patient education
• Dental radiography (X-rays)
• Infection control and sterilization protocols
• Dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
• Periodontal therapy and prophylaxis
