Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care to a diverse ICU patient population
• Monitor and manage cardiac, neuro, and surgical patients with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Act quickly and confidently when patient status changes, escalating concerns as needed
• Document patient progress accurately and communicate clearly with physicians and families
• Uphold critical care standards in a busy 21-bed general ICU

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois (or compact license accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
• Experience caring for cardiac, neuro, and post-surgical ICU patients
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of critical care nursing principles
• Skilled in cardiac and neuro monitoring
• Proficient in medication administration and IV therapy
• Knowledgeable in ventilator management and hemodynamic support
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to stay calm and effective in high-pressure situations
