Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem
Location: Portland, Oregon
Start Date: 08-16-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Rotating shifts, 12.5 hours per shift; schedule varies based on availability and facility needs
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and medications to patients per physician orders
- Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status, adjusting care plans as needed
- Operate and manage ventilators and other respiratory equipment
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care techniques
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality patient care
- Document patient responses and maintain accurate records in compliance with facility standards
Qualifications
- Current Oregon Respiratory Therapist license
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Previous acute care experience preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible per diem shifts
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy modalities and equipment
- Understanding of patient assessment and monitoring
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with electronic health records
- Strong interpersonal and documentation skills
- Adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment
