Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and ventilator support
• Evaluate patient responses to treatment and adjust therapy as needed
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment
• Document care accurately and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain one)
• RRT or CRT credential required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred
• Prior acute care or hospital respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of respiratory therapy modalities, ventilators, and monitoring equipment
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
• Excellent patient education and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting in real time
• Team-oriented with a proactive, compassionate approach
