Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status, creating individualized care plans
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and respiratory treatments
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators for critically ill patients
• Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas draws and pulmonary function tests
• Educate patients and families on breathing techniques and home respiratory care
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to adjust treatments and respond to emergencies

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Iowa or compact privilege
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotate weekends
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
