Shift Type: Day and night 12-hour shifts available, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends and one 24-hour on-call shift every 5-6 weeks

Candidate Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments including nebulizer therapy and medication delivery to ICU patients
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients, adjusting settings as needed
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and analyze results to guide treatment decisions
• Provide BIPAP and CPAP support to patients with respiratory distress
• Collaborate with ICU nurses, physicians, and the broader care team to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Document patient progress and respiratory interventions accurately in Meditech EMR
• Respond quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment to changing patient conditions

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential required
• Active Virginia State License required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU respiratory therapy experience
• Must have ICU experience - candidates without this skill will not be considered
• Ability to work rotating weekends and participate in on-call rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong proficiency with nebulizers, BIPAP/CPAP, and ventilators
• Skilled in arterial blood gas collection and analysis
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Critical thinking and rapid response capabilities
