Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday, with standby call requirement

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, providing expert care from the very first moments
Monitor and support newborns requiring phototherapy, respiratory assistance, and specialized feeding support
Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance while ensuring patient safety
Start and maintain IVs, manage Bubble CPAP and Hi-Flow therapies, and transfer patients to higher levels of care when needed
Flex between SCN and postpartum assignments, caring for up to three mother-baby couplets when the nursery is quiet
Collaborate with neonatologists and the care team to deliver exceptional outcomes for families

Qualifications

Active RN license in Washington
NRP and BLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years combined experience in Level 2 NICU and postpartum settings preferred
Skilled in attending deliveries as the baby nurse
Proficient with IV starts, Bubble CPAP, Hi-Flow, and umbilical line assistance

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for newborns and postpartum patients
Ability to titrate drips including D5W and TPN
Comfortable floating between SCN and postpartum assignments
Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced LDRP environment
