Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, quickly responding to any changes
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions and recovery plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort in every interaction

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
• Previous PCU, step-down, or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
• A genuine passion for patient-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay calm under pressure
• Comfort with electronic health records (EHR) and charting systems
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care
