Registered Nurse - PCU
Location: Kearney, Nebraska
Start Date: 06-22-2026
End Date: 09-21-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to adult patients on a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit
- Manage titratable drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
- Interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac patients post-stent and pacer placement
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients with sepsis, stroke, renal failure, and respiratory conditions
- Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed while maintaining PCU-level care standards
- Champion patient experience through clear communication and responsiveness
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Competency with arterial lines and titratable drips
- Minimum one year of recent PCU or step-down experience preferred
- Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% or higher
