Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to MedSurg and Post OR/Recovery patients
• Manage a patient assignment consistent with the unit 1:5 ratio while prioritizing safety
• Perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and document care in EPIC
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-focused care plans
• Float to other areas within scope when needed to support unit flow
• Support and mentor peers, and step into charge responsibilities when required
• Complete orientation training and demonstrate competency on the orientation exam

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the practicing state required
• BLS certification required at time of hire
• Driver's license required at submittal to confirm radius eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred (MedSurg experience highly valued)
• At least 1 year of charge nurse experience preferred for charge responsibilities
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts; first-time travel nurses are welcome

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required
• BLS certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg clinical skills and acute care experience
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Post OR/Recovery patient care experience
• Ability to manage oncology med/surg overflow patients
• Proficient with basic respiratory support such as nasal cannula
• Skilled in prioritization, delegation, and critical thinking in fast-paced settings
• Familiarity with unit protocols including fingernail/artificial nail policy and orientation competencies
