Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Provide evidence-based emergency care including airway, breathing, and circulation management
• Administer medications and treatments promptly and safely according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary staff to develop and execute care plans
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns without hesitation
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Support family communication with compassion and clarity during high-stress moments
• Participate in competency exams and skill checklists to maintain excellence in practice

Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license and Nursys registration
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications current
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP demonstrated or willing to obtain
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Specialty and related Prime exams or willingness to complete
• Up-to-date immunizations and screenings: COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, TB testing or Positive PPD with negative chest x-ray
• Current Fit Test and negative drug screen as part of onboarding
• Comfort working independently in high-acuity situations and as part of a dynamic team
• Per diem availability and flexibility to cover variable shifts

Education

• Active California RN license required
• ADN or BSN in Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Proficiency in acute cardiac and stroke protocols including rhythm interpretation
• IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with EHR documentation and timely charting
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and crisis management
• Ability to follow standardized competency checklists and validation processes
