Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer medications and document care accurately to ensure patient safety
• Perform thorough patient assessments for adults and pediatric patients and escalate concerns promptly
• Monitor telemetry and apply/maintain telemetry leads as needed
• Deliver high-quality MedSurg and pediatric nursing care in a 17-bed acute setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including RT, charge nurses, and physicians
• Troubleshoot respiratory support equipment in partnership with respiratory therapy when needed
• Provide clear, timely documentation in MEDITECH and communicate handoffs effectively
• Float to ED/ICU for 1:1 assignments as required, demonstrating flexibility and team support

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (eligible to work in North Dakota)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical nursing experience (MedSurg/Telemetry or pediatrics preferred)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and MEDITECH charting
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and rotating day/night schedules
• Ability to pass required respirator/fit testing (facial hair may affect fit testing outcomes)
• Willingness to comply with facility radius rule (50 miles) and CommonSpirit affiliation restrictions and required return-to-office/front documentation timelines

Education

• Active RN license; BSN preferred but not required (associate degree or diploma acceptable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and patient assessment skills
• Telemetry monitoring and basic ECG strip recognition
• MedSurg and pediatric care knowledge — pediatrics is strongly preferred
• Good documentation practices and familiarity with MEDITECH
• Effective communication, teamwork, and approachability
• Basic respiratory troubleshooting (BiPAP support) in coordination with RT
• Ability to prioritize and function in a fast-paced acute care environment
