Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care across both MedSurg and Emergency Department settings
• Admit, discharge, and transfer patients while maintaining continuity of care
• Titrate critical medications including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
• Start IVs and manage PICC lines and ports with confidence
• Respond swiftly to codes including cardiorespiratory, stroke, and sepsis situations
• Participate in trauma response and coordinate with flight transport teams
• Read and interpret cardiac strips independently using Mindray monitors
• Complete EKGs and document findings accurately in Meditech EMR

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Minnesota or compact license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum ER experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal staffing support
• Comfortable floating between MedSurg and Emergency Department
• Experience with medication titration, IV starts, and code response

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage diverse patient populations from rehab to trauma
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR documentation
• Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and transfer protocols
• Experience with BiPAP, high flow oxygen, and Hamilton T1 ventilator
• Excellent communication skills for direct collaboration with hospitalists
